It was an emotional day when Rio Ferdinard and Kate Wright took their vows on September 27th at the idyllic Maris Bay hotel in Turkey. The wedding was the final piece in the puzzle for former England and Manchester United footballer, Rio who admitted to being smitten with Kate from the moment he met her.
Rio’s children, Tia, 8, Tate, 11 and Lorenz, 13 were the key players in the ceremony, with Tia acting as Kate’s maid of honour and the boys' walking Kate down the aisle. The wedding's super stylish design worked beautifully with the breathtaking setting on the coastline of Turkey; The bride was dressed in a lace Berta dress from The Wedding Club, with her bridesmaids also in white, and the groom and his party of 10 all in midnight blue twill bespoke suits.
Clements and Church head tailor Ian Roper described how Rio had requested an elegant, timeless look that would work on all of the groom party from the youngest to the oldest. “To create a leading man look for Rio, we added a horseshoe waistcoat to the two piece suits, so that when he removed his jacket for the evening he was still the smartest guy in the room; we also made a subtle difference in Rio’s suit by adding a contemporary feel with the wider peak lapel, Finally we embroidered the date and Rio and Kate’s initials inside the jacket as a lasting memory."
